The Balcooma underground copper deposit continues to underpin Kagara Ltd’s copper business, providing the bulk of ore to feed the Mt Garnet copper treatment facility.
Kagara Ltd has defined two separate copper resources at Balcooma – the Main Copper Resource and Upper Lens.
The Main Copper Resource has a total Measured, Indicated and Inferred Resources of 770,000t at 3.4% Cu, and the Upper Lens has an Indicated and Inferred Resource of 774,000 at 1.3% Cu.
In the FY 2011, a total of 461,007 tonnes of copper ore grading 3.8% copper and 52,988 tonnes of polymetallic ore grading 6.2% zinc, 3.0% lead and 0.7% copper was mined from Balcooma underground.
